Say NO to the squeeze

Say NO to squeezing 210 more kids into KHPS!

Sign the petition today….

Birmingham City Council wants to make Kings Heath Primary a 4 form entry school – that’s 210 more pupils on site, with a total of 890 children (including the Nursery), on site at any one time.

The plan is to build a 2 storey block of 8 classrooms in the playground – greatly reducing the children’s play area.

The school grounds and buildings are already cramped.  Children eat lunch in short shifts in the school halls, and assemblies are tight as it is.  There is no extra funding to improve or enlarge existing facilities – that’s why we’re opposing expansion.

We’re concerned that 210 extra children shoe-horned into this school will affect the pupils’ social and educational experience.

The school prides itself on being fully accessible. Narrow corridors are already difficult to negotiate for wheelchairs – more kids means more congestion.

210 extra children being dropped off and picked up will mean more traffic around the school gates.  We believe the safety of pupils will be jeopardised.

DO YOU WANT TO HELP STOP THIS HAPPENING?

Please sign a petition today in the main playground or the Nursery and Reception play area (where you can also pick one up to take home and collect more signatures).
